Confirmation 2024

Hey Church Friends and Family,


I would like to invite your 5th or 6th grade student to participate in our 2024 Confirmation class. Confirmation is an opportunity to respond to the grace of God available to us, as acknowledged in baptism, and to promise to live as a person of faith. This year’s class is available for all 5th and 6th graders. If you know of an older student interested please let me know.


The class will meet for five consecutive Sundays starting on Sunday, February 18th. All class sessions will meet in the fellowship hall at 10:00 a.m. except for the two weekends with field trips/retreats.


Confirmation is the process of learning about the church and moving forward in your faith in Jesus Christ. Each week we will focus on a key element of the Christian life as well as focus on a spiritual discipline. Each student will need one adult to participate in the sessions with them. If you are interested in your child participating please email me by February 11th, 2024. 


At the end of the class each participant will have the option to join the church.


Outline of meetings

  • Week 1: Sunday, February 18th, 10:00a.m. - Basic Christian Beliefs
  • Week 2: Friday, February 23rd - Sunday, February 25th Confirmation  Retreat at Epworth by the Sea. 
  • Week 3: Sunday, March 3rd, 10:00 a.m. - History of the Christian Church
  • Week 4: Sunday, March 10th, 3:00 p.m. - Basic Wesleyan Beliefs (Field trip to Savannah, GA)
  • Week 5: Sunday, March 17th, 10:00 a.m. - The Meaning of Membership and Discipleship
  • Confirmation Sunday: Sunday, April 14th, 2024, service time TBD.
